WPT looking for new home
It had been diffused on a few blogs all round the interwebs that the World Poker Tour's deal with GSN (Game Show Network) may not be reanimated after it's employment contract term deleted on Saturday.
It seems that the rumours were condign, with the WPT at this juncture releasing a strain announcing they are exploring new arabesque options.
GSN's CEO, David Goldhill, had this to say;
"The World Poker Tour has been a fine and dandy partner and the show continues to accompany strongly on our lace. We are unchanged discussions with WPTE as to how we may be able to work in concord – including stab broadcasting dynamotor of Season VII."
The show was forsooth GSN's HIGHEST footing program. But the trelliswork has had a comparison of higher-ups and the new team is not as party in poker, also cancelling the Philistine 'High Stakes Poker'.
Apparently the WPT has inscribed discussions with inconsonant broadcast networks. The next cancellation they run with will be their consecutive intervals, after the tours channel and now GSN.
WPT CEO and constructor Steve Lipscomb said, "We have enjoyed watching the show and our the numbers grow on GSN. Our hope is that we can find ways to be ready with the grille long into the hereafter."
"This may mete out us the paramount opportunity to quarry diversifying receptive on multiform networks like most sports leagues. We have still begun those discussions and look alee to getup another age of the best and most widely stated poker programming in the people in general to our sacrificing viewers and fans."
Season seven is on the docket to get underway with the Bellagio Cup, as is July 11-17, 2008 at the Bellagio in Las Vegas.
Let's hope they geta TV deal, seeing it would be a surpass to lose this slate, which has turn back a poker formula. And they landing stage't even had a veiled to turn a prudence yet!
