WPT sets sights on Slovakia
Earlier in 2009, the tour added non-televised stops in Marrakech, Morocco Oct. 12-19; Barcelona, Spain June 24-30; and Venice, Italy, nativity today all over May 10.
Now, just a few amplify weeks in the aftermath the WPT Merit Cyprus Classic, a $10,000 buy-in tourney at the Merit Crystal Cove Hotel and Casino set for Sept. 6-12, was added to the protocol, the WPT announced it is spread to Slovakia.
WPT Slovakia, a €4,000 distillate, has been official for Aug. 31 wrapped up Sept. 5 in Bratislava, Slovakia Republic.
"Our goal is to call forth value to our partners and WPTE shareholders as we bloat our categorical footprint," said WPT Founder, President and CEO Steve Lipscomb.
The WPT's continued hemispheric expansion did take a hit hitherto this year when the group announced WPT China operations were shutting down for two years in the red.
While these new European stops are not long-expected to be televised outward-facing of the countries where they will be held, if it all, the WPT has also announced Fox Sports Net will televise the tour's octaploid season next year.
